About us
At Kaleidoscope Living, we believe that great design is more than aesthetics. It’s about creating experiential interiors that tell your story. Our mission is to help diaspora Kenyans, retirees, local homeowners, expatriates, and hospitality businesses bring their dream spaces to life with a perfect blend of simplicity, functionality, aesthetics, and cultural authenticity.
I'm Wanjiku Kimari, the founder and an interior designer specialising in experiential and culturally authentic spaces. Kaleidoscope Living redefines design as a way to tell personal and cultural stories through curated and emotionally resonant interiors.
We are a boutique interior design studio specialising in residential and commercial projects. From diaspora retirement homes in Kenya to modern small-space apartments and guest hospitality projects, we bring expertise, creativity, and cost-effectiveness to every design.
With an approach rooted in “less is more”, we curate interiors that are timeless, functional, and deeply personal. Our goal is to design spaces where you feel connected, whether you’re coming home after years abroad or reimagining a local property.
We make high-quality design accessible through affordable pricing and flexible design packages.
Our personalised approach ensures every design perfectly matches your style, lifestyle, and budget.
We provide design and build services and support our clients through the entire process.
Our affordable strategy helps you make informed decisions about spending to get the most value for your money.
We share our design knowledge through our blogs and newsletters, empowering you to make informed decisions about your space.
We believe interior design is more than aesthetics; it’s about shaping spaces that support emotional well-being and self-expression. Through our two-tier consultancy packages, we'll help you uncover your design DNA and create interiors that look beautiful, feel meaningful, and tell their unique cultural story.
For diaspora Kenyans planning to retire in Kenya, we offer a seamless, end-to-end design process, from concept to completion. We handle everything with care, ensuring your vision is realised even when you’re miles away. Our service combines virtual collaboration, transparent project management, and cultural insight to deliver beautiful, functional, and affordable retirement homes that feel like a true return home.
We design restaurants, boutique guesthouses, and Airbnbs that offer guests more than comfort—they offer connection. Every space we create tells a story, blending local texture and craftsmanship with global design sensibility. Our experiential design approach helps hospitality brands build emotional connections with their guests, making every visit memorable and authentic.
We partner with senior move managers across North America to help their clients visualise how existing furniture and cherished belongings will fit into new retirement homes safely. Through detailed floor plans and tailored layouts, we make downsizing simpler, more organised, and emotionally comforting, ensuring every piece finds its perfect place.
As expatriates relocate to Kenya, we help them feel at home in a new environment. Our design consultations bridge cultural and aesthetic sensibilities, blending global styles with Kenyan authenticity. Whether you’re settling into a diplomatic residence or a rental apartment, we create experiential interiors that reflect your personality while embracing the richness of your new surroundings.
Your space should feel like home, wherever you are in life’s journey. At Kaleidoscope Living, we bring thoughtful creativity to every project. Schedule a free 30-minute Google Meet consultation below and take the first step towards your dream interiors.
